Multiple MVA’s shut Route 80

March 25, 2015 - Friday morning at 10:44am the Allamuchy Fire Department was alerted to Route 80 EB mile post 16.6 for a multiple vehicle accident with injuries. Rescue pumper 91-63 went in service and called for an additional engine to response from Hope Township - 38fire.

While approaching the scene, 91-63 come up upon another accident at Route 80 EB mile post 15.5. Command was established by Allamuchy assistant chief 91-70 and additional resources were requested from Blairstown (46fire) and Knowlton (41fire), both for an engine, as well as Warren County Hazmat (station 22). Hope was directed to the original MVA at MM 16.6, along with Allamuchy heavy rescue 91-75 and Warren County Hazmat for a 100 gallon fuel spill. One patient was transported by 95Rescue from that scene.

At the second scene (MM 15.5) a small fire in the engine compartment of one of the tractor trailers was put out and engine fluids were taken care of 91-63. Four parties were checked by 95rescue.

The highway was shut for over an hour during the cleanup process and all units cleared and returned to service by 12:30pm.

Green Township (95fire) was put on duel alert during the incident to cover any additional Allamuchy calls.
