Allamuchy Tackles Vehicle Fire

December 28, 2017 - On one of the coldest nights of the year, Allamuchy Firefighters were dispatched for a possible vehicle fire on RT80 East. Upon the arrival of first due units, it was a confirmed fully involved mini van in the right lane. As the first due engine arrived, the front bumpers 1 ¾” handline was stretched and put into action. The fire was knocked down in less than 10 minutes, and crews quickly cleaned to get back in service. NJSP and 95 Rescue assisted at the scene, as well as state DOT to salt the highway due to the icing conditions. (photo provided by passer-byer)
