February 9, 2014 -  At around 9pm, Green Township firefighters were alerted of a chimney fire at 111 Decker Pond Rd. As firefighters arrived on scene, company officers performed a size up to discover which chimney was burning due to the multiple fireplaces in the 100 years old home. As crews made their way into the home to investigate, heavy smoke was discovered coming from walls on the "C" side of the structure indicating a possible fire in the walls.

Mutual aid was immediately requested from Allamuchy for their Ladder and Tanker, as well as firefighters from Netcong, Byram, Newton, Fredon and Andover.  Allamuchy Firefighters set their ladder for firefighters to do a full inspection of the chimney, as well as to breach an exterior wall located directly behind the "C" side chimney.  Fire was found climbing the walls and and it was immediately knocked down.
